Our client, a major Oil & Gas Operator are looking for a driven, independent & enthusiastic Lead Environmental Advisor. This is a residential role based in Darwin working 50 hours per week, Monday to Saturday. 12 month contract. Job description Under the direction of the Onshore HSE Manager and the General Manager Construction, this position will have the responsibility to provide assurance that Onshore scope of work is planned and constructed in accordance with all environmental requirements and commitments, and all conditions and obligations imposed through permits and approvals. The position is responsible for the management of the onshore Company environmental staff (staffing, scheduling, and assignment of tasks). Key Deliverables include –   - Lead the onshore environmental compliance program, including compliance with the environmental approvals, management plans and procedures, implement cost saving initiatives and practical solutions to complex issues; - Provide oversight of and guidance to Contractor for the overall onshore environmental compliance program, including compliance with the Contractor's environmental management plans and procedures; - Support the General Manager Construction, Deputy Project Manager - Construction, Onshore HSE Manager and Onshore Engineering Manager as required; - Develop and maintain strong relationships with Regulators and all internal and external stakeholders; - Provide advice, technical assistance, assurance and environmental support to the Company onshore construction and engineering teams; - Plan and lead environmental compliance audits as part of Company's integrated audit and assurance schedule; - Compile environmental reports and statistical data as required; - Implement environmental engineering specifications, processes and programmes applicable to the onshore facilities, including risk assessments, impact mitigation strategies and measures, management plans, emissions monitoring, environmental monitoring; - Liaise with other engineering, construction and commissioning disciplines to ensure alignment and consistency between environment, quality, health & safety, integrity, reliability, security, onshore / offshore; - Support the onshore Emergency Management Team as required. Requirements - Bachelor degree in Environment or equivalent experience (essential). - Higher level degree (desirable). - Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills including negotiation, conflict resolution and liaison, to develop cooperative working relationships with internal and external clients - Leadership and management skills with a focus on managing workplace health and safety - Proven high level research, analytical and problem solving skills - Sound understanding of the Australian environmental regulatory framework and the development of environmental management plans - Acting in a lead role within large scale Greenfield projects - Sound understanding of LNG / LPG processing. - Sound understanding of tropical environments. - Minimum 10 years' environmental management experience Offer With over 100 offices in 42 countries we are proud to offer this exciting career opportunity with an industry leader.
