Global Recruitment Robert Walters recently made the decision to expand its oil & gas division in view of the recent developments in the sector .

CEO of Robert Walters Brasil Kevin Gibson comments

“ With the new regulatory and economic changes in the Brazilian oil and gas sector our clients see more transparency on future investments in the pre-salt reserves and are reviewing their hiring plans as a result “

The improved regulatory framework ended the mandatory participation of Petrobras as the sole operator in pre-salt , creating new opportunities for other investors and is predicted to deliver some relief the distressed Rio job market ,

Robert Walters Brasil Oil & Gas Specialist Sam Gallaghar commented

“ With the large number of new foreign oil producers bidding successfully on the pre salt they will be looking to build new teams over the next 18 months”

In addition to the producers , there are large numbers of foreign oil field services and specialist construction companies that are positioning themselves to take on the work that would have been traditionally done by the local firms that were involved in Lava Jato

Adds Gallaghar “ with a higher number of foreign players bidding on the projects there will be a need for Multi lingual specialists who can communicate with offshore management “

A number of firms who have started to build teams have enjoyed a candidate rich environment but with the sheer number of new projects at bidding stage it should change in mid 2019 predicts Robert Walters
