Statoil in recruitment drive

Statoil is launching a renewed recruitment drive to attract more skilled workers after earlier laying off thousands of staff in response to a market downturn triggered by lower oil prices.

The Norwegian state-controlled operator said it aims to enlist more than 50 skilled operatives annually in the coming years across multiple disciplines - including processing, electro-mechanics and logistics - “to ensure the company has the right competence and capacity” for operations on the country’s continental shelf.
