TECHNICAL MANAGER: OPERATOR: GABON:STAFF
Reporting to VP Upstream, the Technical Manager provides the leadership role and direct responsibilities for all subsurface (Geosciences and Petroleum Engineering), ITS and Geomatics functional activities of the Company. The Candidate will be managing activities in terms of field development for our newly acquired Assets, as well as utilizing geological, geophysical & reservoir data analysis, interpretation and modeling to optimize recovery and maximize the value of Assets.
New organization but with proven assets. The first subsurface team, as well as the ITS Infrastructure and Digital Mapping are yet to be put together, with this role being the most critical to the success of the position.
As Technical Manager, the candidate will;
Be responsible for advising the Vice President Upstream on all subsurface related subjects regarding Production and Development matters.
Manage all activities and staff of the Subsurface Department
Maintain advisory work on the optimization of the field development and reserves mapping are key elements.
Advise and QC partners projects to Maintain and enhance production
Control & Challenge Operator costs (NOV)
Ensure quality of Geosciences interpretation, appraisal and plans and quality of reservoir engineering modeling and work
Ensure technical learning and best practices (also from operator) are captured and available for application for our mid to long term company strategy.
Be responsible for keeping an up-to-date Geosciences and Petroleum Engineering databases
Manage all ITS and Geomatics (Mapping & Field Operations) related matters and activities, ensuring data security and Survey operations high standard execution.
Challenge assets small to medium-size fields) awaiting feasibility studies.
Focus on Brownfield opportunities that require low-cost execution plans.
Develop local expertise Geosciences and Petroleum Engineering disciplines.
Provide subsurface input to Project Integration Group.
Look at new opportunities to develop Company portfolio of projects.
Setup & Monitor all ITS Infrastructure including Data & Knowledge Management
+5 years Experience in Managerial Position
+15 years Experience in Subsurface disciplines the broader the better
Strong Experience in mature field production management (optimization and monitoring)
Previous experience in Technical Management position is a plus.
A Master degree or equivalent qualification in Petroleum Engineering
Strong technical skills and some leadership skills.
Excellent relationship building and communication skills.
Good verbal and written communication to deal with partners.

Effectively utilizes each team member to his/her fullest potential.
